Footballers are not generally known for their skills off the pitch, but Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville are no ordinary footballers. Whilst Neville has retired and is now a successful TV pundit as well as being part of England’s coaching setup, Giggs is still playing on at the highest level despite turning 40 at the end of the month. Neither is short of a bob or two, but the news that they are looking to expand their property development venture together shows that both are keeping their options open if they ever decide to leave the football world behind.
News that the pair of looking at opening a synagogue together is a step away from the more familiar football themed hotel that they are planning to set up near Old Trafford. According to the Jewish Chronicle Online, the pair have set their eyes on the Manchester Reform Synagogue – a 1950’s-built building which remains the only city-centre shul in Manchester. There are also rumours that the new property gurus are also interested in buying a disused police station just off Deansgate in central Manchester. The adjacent synagogue is a require purchase if they are to redevelop the site. As part of the plans, they will build new offices, apartments and shops on the site, and will also incorporate a new shul and a community centre complex.
One thing is for certain, there is plenty of demand for quality housing options in Central Manchester. Like many big cities, professionals from all over the country are drawn to the area in order to develop their careers and enjoy the opportunities of the city. Anyone looking for somewhere to live in Manchester may be in for a rough ride though if they can’t find decent landlords. The demand for flats is so strong that many apartments are snapped up as soon as they are put onto the market.
One of the most important things to consider when looking for a new property to buy or rent is whether there is a north west property management company in charge of the building. Decent residential property management companies are worth their weight in gold. Having to worry about insurance, maintenance, or block cleanliness issues is something that no young professional really wants to bother their time with. Fortunately, there are service charge management companies that are willing to do all the hard work so that the pressure is off landlords, owners, and tenants alike.
Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville were both part of the famous set of Fergie’s Fledglings which also included other United greats such as Paul Scholes and David Beckham. Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement has meant that the red half of the city is currently going through a transitional period as Old Trafford adapts to post-Fergie life. The willingness of Giggs and Neville to invest back into the area that helped to make their name is surely a good thing. Hopefully they’ll employ decent property managers to carry out day to day business.
